Adam Rozenhart – The Social Media Sweat Lodge

Adam Rozenhart

Adam Rozenhart is a social media specialist with Edmonton-based advertising and PR agency Calder Bateman Communications. His work focuses on developing integrated social media marketing strategies and tactics for clients and campaigns.

In 2007, with a small group of partners, he founded the wildly popular hockey blog OilersNation.com (followed shortly by FlamesNation.ca and CanucksArmy.com, and soon by websites for the eastern Canadian hockey markets as well).

He is active on Twitter and Facebook, hosts his own Edmonton-based, hyperlocal podcast called the Unknown Studio, and is frequently asked to participate as a speaker and panelist at social media conferences, which he accepts because he likes to meet new people, and when you actually see if you'll know he also enjoys free food.

Suzanne Morter – How to Give Yourself a Promotion

Suzanne Morter

In today's new business reality where organizations need to do more, better, faster with less it can be harder to get noticed in your organization. In some companies the opportunities don't come around as often as they used to.
We will take a look at some of the best practices of people that get promoted. You will leave with a vision of that promotion and what you specifically need to demonstrate to make that vision a reality.

If there is anything Suzanne is passionate about, it’s people. From a very young age, Suzanne has been making connections and building relationships. As a Certified Management Accountant and auditor for the provincial government in the 90’s, this love of people transformed her client’s opinion of auditors; in fact a former client commented that she was the only auditor he was actually happy to see each year!

JCI Corporate Social Responsibility (Max first 30 registered – Must attend both sessions on Thursday)

JCI CSR, The Responsibility of the Active Citizen is a half day course designed to raise the awareness of the long term effects our actions and behavior have in humanity, economics and environment; promote and generate discussions about the Corporate Social Responsibility concept and the United Nations Global Compact principles; encourage members to assume responsibilities as businesses and citizens in the society and apply and implement Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities.

JCI CSR is recommended to people who want to understand the role and responsibilities of the active citizen with the environment, community and personal prosperity and how individuals can make a difference in their own personal environment and in their companies or jobs.

Chad Banman – How to Break the Rules and Close More Sales
Do you or your salespeople ever wonder…..How to effectively take control of a sales call without feeling like one of those “pushy” and annoying salespeople? If it’s really possible to separate yourself from the competition on something other than price? If there isn’t a better way to deal with “money” rather than waiting for it to become an objection somewhere down the road? If there’s a way to stop buyers from continually “shopping” your products and services? Do you ever feel like an “unpaid consultant”? If there is non-manipulative way to begin selling when the prospect says “NO”? Why traditional sales methods are no longer effective? In fact, they can be hazardous to your health and your bottom line.

Are you willing to consider an alternative approach to sales? If the title of sales feels uncomfortable but you or your company has to grow revenues and you do not want to be seen as the aggressive manipulative sales person, this session may be just what you are looking for.

Jason Ranchoux – Attracting New Members

Jason Ranchoux

It's universal - in almost every club and community group the issue is the same – How do we attract new members? Better yet, how do we entice visitors along to our meetings and not only get them to come back again, but convert them into committed and dedicated members?

Before we get into the tips for attracting new members, it's important to sit down and define exactly who it is your chapter wants to attract. Are you seeking to attract more young people to your group; or perhaps professional people? Maybe you're after family orientated members. You may find that your potential members fall into more than one category. It's important to define the type of people you wish to attract so that you can tailor your marketing methods to them.

Join Jason for a facilitated discussion on attracting new members and how to keep them. Hear about what other chapter’s successes have been, what has failed, and group brainstorming for future recruitment activities for your Chapter.

Jason Ranchoux has been a member of the Kelowna Jaycees for four years.  He currently is the Kelowna’s Jaycee of the Year and was recently named the BC& Yukon Region Most Outstanding Member.  Jason’s main focus with the Jaycees is offering members the best value tailored to the individual as he serves as an example of what you can get out of membership within JCI.
